Neither bulked with muscle or considered to be scrawny, Verius’ life growing up in a small fishing village by the city of Mideel built a body developed by spending time playing in the sea and working aboard ships. Verius’ tanned skin, the color of light bronze, is matched by a medium length mane of strawberry blonde hair which is usually kept in a low ponytail. Verius’ eyes are of a saffron or light amber hue which borders on being dark orange. The boy also has small patches of sun freckles on his shoulders. Before leaving the village to find work in Midgar, Verius’ father tattooed a large Maltese cross on his upper left shoulder blade so that he would never forget his family’s eight virtues. While working in Midgar, Verius also had both of his ears pierced. The strawberry blonde also bears three permanent scars on his right shoulder from practicing falconry as a youth. Verius is neither opulent in dress, nor defined in a certain look. When not required to be in uniform, he would most likely wear something comfortable such as washed and faded jeans with a white dress shirt. The most recent alteration for Verius is a new black and green serpent tattoo that’s stretches from his upper right thigh to his lower right abdomen. [ Personality ] – Moving to Midgar after having grown up in a small seaside village, Verius suffers from a small town complex, often hiding his emotions to keep from looking foolish. This deliberate attitude, made to stop him from looking like an outsider in the big city, has become a bad habit. Often to others Verius seems like he is showing disinterest and simply doesn’t care. Holding back from saying what Verius really wants has garnered problems for the strawberry blonde in the past. However these traits do not make Verius stoic or anti-social, but merely acts as a facade for the temperate that lies underneath the mask. Some what unsure of himself, Verius proves to be gregarious around the characters that show the capability to lead. Finally, Verius attempts to strive to maintain the eight principal virtues of his family, tattooed on his back: diligence, loyalty, honesty, modesty, devotion, ambition, proper discretion, and contempt of death. [ History ] – Born in Mideel, Verius Elesion was raised by his father and mother in a fishing village near the city he was born in. All throughout his youth, Verius, along with the rest of the village population depended on the sea for their existence. The fishing village depended on the ocean for its commerce, its food stock, and the people’s entertainment. The unpredictability of the sea largely defines Verius’ personality, as the boy learned quickly that the sea can give life as quickly as it can take it. Being the middle child of three, he was seldom relied on like the first born, or loved like the youngest. From birth, Verius was taught to swim, how to navigate at sea, and was taught the art of falconry often used by fishermen for the bird’s keen ability to spot large schools of fish out at sea. Verius still bears permanent scars on his right shoulder from the talons of a Sea Eagle perching on his shoulder without proper leather padding. After a sudden hurricane ravaged much of the village when Verius was 16, claiming many lives of children Verius had grown up with, Verius had decided against his parent’s wishes to move to Midgar for employment. Upon arriving at the city, Verius was taken in by a Wutainese man who ran a weapon shop in sector 6. Working in the shop, Verius learned to wield his weapon of choice: a long pole arm featuring a reclining crescent blade at the end of the pole. (More History to be Added) [ Other ] – Verius keeps a sea eagle from his home land as a companion. He has extensively trained with the bird, and has taught it various aspects of falconry.
